由2岁便开始学习音乐并成为爵士乐的终身爱好者。从小就接受古典小提琴的训练，但后来有一次祖母带他到三藩市欣赏大乐队演出时，首次开始接触爵士乐缺即时沉醉其中，随后数年不断探索大师级的经典，包括Duke Ellington、Glenn Miller 、Count Basie及Benny Goodman。及后受到Frank Sinatra、Bobby Darin及Harry Connick Jr.等知名爵士歌手的启发，他于过去数年一直拜师格林美奖得主Howard McCrary，追求更高层次的歌唱技巧。
